Ricky and Lola are Jubilee’s new bunny rabbits. They will be writing a monthly weblog from their home outside the main school entrance using Jubilee’s wireless network and a specially made fur-friendly laptop. Watch this space for updates!

Lola's diary
FEBRUARY 9th
I went to a place I didn’t like. I went in a moving box. I saw white…. lots of white. It was bright, and I tried to pretend it wasn’t happening, but a lady cut off my claws! She held me very still, and SNAP. Chop chop. This made me feel extra especially shocked. They took the brown rabbit away and when she came back she was very grumpy. This did not shock me; it’s normal. Her claws were gone too! What an ordeal. When we got home there was a small, whole apple to sink my teeth into. It was mine! Mine only! Juicy apples are my new favourite. Small, rosy, chunky apply chunks. Nibble nibble crunch.

JANUARY 5th
What’s happening? We’ve been away. I miss those small, smiley bright faces coming to say hello. Sure, it’s been fun in Kate’s flat, like when we were running loose in the hall, and we managed to open a cupboard on our own, and get in and chew her shopping bags. And it was so cool when we frightened Kate by hiding! She didn’t know where we were! Ha ha ha. That was an adventure! But I want to see those little faces again. I’ve been growing recently. I have learnt how to jump over a large suitcase using my big back feet. The brown rabbit can’t do it, but I can because I am FEARLESS!

I’ve decided I’m not a fan of rain. Drip drip drip trickle trickle splish splash. Every day looks silvery to me. I have forgotten what life was like before this downpour of wet stuff. There’s so much wet stuff! My coat gets quite soggy and smelly, and I can’t lie down in the places I like best. I have found a cosy place though! It’s lying in the corner of my bedroom, with the brown rabbit shielding me. We can keep each other warm and snuggly. Sometimes she licks my ears. Luckily, at nighttime we go in our other house to keep safe which is great fun, because we get fresh crispy crunchy hay. Hay! Hay is the best! I love hay! Hay hay hay… Hay!

NOVEMBER 4th
Recently, things have got a lot more interesting. I’ve noticed more stuff in my play area. In fact, there seems to be more to chew. I used to feel quite scared about going down the ramp, but now a tunnel has appeared, I’ve been brave enough to see what’s down there. That small black rabbit has been making a lot of noise and been very cheeky. He makes a dreadful mess! Later, I might have a crunch on the twig ball, or sit in the hay bed for a snuffly munch. I like this new adventure.

OCTOBER 2nd
Sleep. Snooze. Nap. Kip. Doze. Snuggle up with the brown girl rabbit. I’m sooo tired today, because I’ve been awake all night ripping and shredding paper, then spreading it around my house. I ate some hay, then tried pushing it into the corners of my big cage with my front paws. I have also decided that I like flinging my water bottle off the cage and onto the floor, so that it drips all over the place and I have nothing to drink. Kate has to come and fix it, and when she opens the cage I try to escape again! Ah well, I’m off to slumberland again. Sweet dreams to you all. Goodnight!

SEPTEMBER 23rd
Today I was very excited as Kate woke us up with a surprise! She had some orange thing which she told us was grated carrot. It was delicious! I like grated carrot. Lola seemed to like it too, although I didn't really want to share it. What a lovely breakfast. After that we went back to sleep for ages, and as it was really hot I lay on my side with my big feet out. When it was time to go to the place with the children (Kate calls it school), we practised escaping, and ran up and down the hall until Kate got cross. I like school. The children are friendly, and we get to show off our fluffiness.
