Creativity and cross curricular work are the keys to learning at Jubilee. Our reports and Topic Webs are similarly laid out with reference to th
e 6 areas of learning used in the Foundation Stage. Each year group has Throughlines which make links across the subjects they are learning to show the children why they are studying what they are studying. In a world that is changing so fast it is important that children are given the skills to learn- it isn’t what they learn that is important so much as how they learn. It is vital that children make sense of all they learn by putting it in context, so we try to include topics/areas of learning that are relevant to the world today and the lives of our school community. The curriculum changes from year to year (with some staples remaining the same) and our families are given the chance to respond, during Have Your Say Day, to offer suggestions for their own ideas into the curriculum map.
It seems to work very well for the whole school to take on topics together so that there is a community spirit to learning throughout the school.
