Home learning if self-isolating
If your child is off school but well enough able to learn, it is vital that they complete the below tasks to the best of their ability. Contact their teacher via firstname.lastname@example.org with any queries and to report achievements at the end of the day. Their teacher will be thrilled to receive this!
We will be happy to loan books on request and loan of IT equipment may also be possible if required.
If able to read, your child should read for 30 minutes. If still learning to read, they should do 30 minutes on Teach Your Monster to Read.
Additionally all children should be read to for 30 minutes.
Reception Class, Year 1 and Year 2: 20 minutes of Numbots followed by 40 minutes of Mathletics.
Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6: 15 Minutes of Times Tables Rock Stars followed by 45 Minutes of Mathletics.
The above should be considered a minimum amount of work. We would expect more to be done if your child and home circumstance is able. For example, your child use the Knowledge Organisers for their Geography topics as a starting point to do some research or complete an artistic activity. Additionally, BBC Bitesize and the National Academy are both excellent resources. Such endeavours are a fantastic use of their time and their teacher would love to hear about them via the school’s admin account.
Also see below for further guidance and additional online learning activities which will really support your child’s progress. Pupils should be able to work through these programmes independently but, as ever, should be supervised whilst on the internet.
